How many of you compare yourself to what you see on social media? I do!! I love seeing another Designers Studio, life, food they ate and children, just as much as the next. I also loving posting photos of MY own studio and the things that inspire me. Instagram is BY FAR my favorite form of social media, so today after I posted this picture…
I just had to laugh! One would think that I am diligently designing away in a brightly lit studio. A studio with natural light and crisp clean lines. HOWEVER, that is NOT the case!! Today, I took the subscribers of my newsletter on a TRUTH TELLING Thursday “tour” of my Design Studio 🙂
Wanna peek inside the hot mess??

Today was SO beautiful in Nashville, albeit, freezing and Icy, but still…Beautiful none the less. When I heard we were going to have an Ice Storm, I was excited! Crazy, I know, but some of my best childhood memories were of the Winters in Michigan. I want Liam to at least see a tiny bit of that. SO when we woke up this morning and saw white covered roads, I was excited!
As the morning progressed, Liam grew more and more excited about the ice and snow, so we bundled up ( in the warmest warm clothes we could find, no snow boots and snow-pants here) and went on an ice day adventure. Ice Storm 2015 has proven to be a blast! and of course, I brought along my camera!
One major influence in my design process, as with any creative probably, is getting inspired! Of course, meeting with my clients, feeling the personality of their home, and solving the equation of design needs, is all part of the recipe. But once that Design Recipe has begun, then its time for inspiration to feed the project!!! Lately a lot of my inspiration has come from my complete wanderlust soul, that NEEDS to discover far away lands ( so romantic right?) well, in the meantime, Here are a few of the “Stop me in my design Tracks” photos that have my inspiration wheels turning feverishly!! So many Inspired places to see!
This beautiful photo of the Grand Canyon inspires me SO greatly! I have no idea who the photographer was, if anyone knows, please pass it on!
Brights make me happy!!!
I am I N S P I R E D by Positano, Italy! The beauty!
Molyvos Village, Lesvos Island, Greece by Costas Stamatellis- Deep Purples and tones of Grey make me INSPIRED !!!!
What about you? What is the MOST beautiful place you have traveled? Have you ever looked at a photo and imagined yourself there, smelling the smells, feeling the cool breeze, watching the people? Me too! That is what INSPIRES me!!
