LIFE.designed~Growth is beautiful..but it may not be pretty!!

HAPPY SUNDAY!!

Throughout the last 5-7 years, I have been aware of a lot of periods of growth, whether it be spiritually, emotionally, with my health, literally the “GROWTH” of my child, and with my relationships. But yesterday, something occurred to me as I was running. I was about to reach the top of a huge hill, that I can never seem to conquer, I always TRY to run up it, but i never make it running, I always end up walking. I typically feel a little defeated, wishing that THIS would be the time I make it running. Well, yesterday..I made it!! So what occurred to me as I crested the top of the hill, in a barely run, wheezing, feeling like I wanted to throw up, one shoe untied, one ear bud hanging from my sports bra ( no idea?) and one barely in my ear, sweat puring down my face, was,  “THIS is BEAUTIFUL!!! I MADE IT!!!!! but MAN I feel like SHIT..this isn’t pretty, its not pretty at all”  it was growth, for sure, growth in my fitness level, and in my consciousness, in my ability to “push through” so it was beautiful, but my GOD it wasn’t pretty!! It made me think to myself…if the goal is to get to the top…why does it matter if I run or walk..didn’t I STILL make it? It was a shift in perspective. THAT was the part that was beautiful. As I was thinking the completion of RUNNING to the top of the hill was the victory ( and don’t get me wrong, I am totally excited that I made it running) its actually the lesson to always be conscious of perspective,  that whether we run or walk, if we reach the goal, it doesnt matter how we get there! 

Its not going to be pretty sometimes. Its going to be uncomfortable sometimes. Sometimes we will want to quit. Sometimes its not going to feel good, or happy, or perfect. Most of the time, we wont learn the lesson until its completed. and sometimes its not going to be pretty, but I promise you, that it WILL always be beautiful!!
