Its scary..I swear to you I dream of Custom Closets! Sad I know, but its true!! If my master bedroom closet were a guy..he would be Re-assuring me every single night that he is A GREAT person. He would promise me that he would treat me like a queen, he would bring me flowers every night. And if my master closet were a guy, he would drive around a super fancy sports car and continue to tell himself size doesn’t matter. Except…well..it does!!!! ESPECIALLY when a girl is talking about her closet!
I have closet envy, rather, my closet has closet envy!! I can NOT get over the little tiny closet that resides in my bedroom!! its the littlest closet you have ever seen, and there is a heater duct in it! (I feel as though I may be ranting). Anyway, you get what I am saying. So, fast forward to endless hours searching Pinterest for a solution, and realizing we will probably have to do some sort of Custom Closet system ( a la California Closets) so we can actually USE the space. I use, and design custom closets as a staple with my clients who have endless budgets, but not for my own home. I have to admit, I started to fall in love with a few of the options!! and for such a tiny space, it actually doesn’t turn out to be very expensive..Here is a quick sketch of what I want. ( yes, I AM a professional Interior Designer, and YES that IS Red Crayola Crayon) please excuse this horrible picture! As you can see, this is no way to spend your days in a Master closet ( laughable!!) so most of our clothes are hanging in my 3 yr olds double closet!!
Reality…. (which by the way, I am actually excited about too!! I will love having a usable closet!)
I don’t have custom closets…but judging by the photos, I definitely want one!! I haven’t heard of California Closets until I read this post…but now I find myself in LOVE!! thanks for such a great resource!!
WE moved in June, to a house with waaaay smaller closets. I cried when I was trying to put my clothes away. I am getting ready to change them out from winter to spring next week, and will probably cry again. I am doing a post tomorrow of my dream closets. Come check it out!
