My Mama the angel..

Dear Mama,

Since today is Mothers day, I want to take a second to really really really, let you know how much I appreciate everything you did for us, as a young mama of two. You taught me so many things, that I didn’t even realize until I became a mama of my own, and there is no way to ever thank you, except to instill the same love, and joy, and excitement for life, into Liam, that you did for us.

Because of you, every small achievement is like the biggest success in the world.
Because of you, I know how to make a rainy day inside, into a artsy crafty dance fest.
Because of you, I know that love is the best medicine.
Because of you, I get to think of my childhood every single time I hear “You are My Sunshine” and remember the days of you playing your guitar to my sister and I outside our rooms, just so we could fall asleep a little easier.
Because of you, I know that getting your clothes muddy, is WAY better than keeping them clean.
Because of you, my only wish as a child, was to become a mama.
Because of you, I learned that I am beautiful.
Because of you, I learned to love unconditionally, and fight fair, but do both with passion,and truth, or none of it matters.
Because of you, I know that the circle of life is exactly as it should be, no matter how much it hurts sometimes.
Because of you, I get to decide what makes me feel beautiful, no one else can decide for me.
Because of you, I learned to go after every dream, the ones that are meant to be, will be, and all the others, will make amazing memories!

Because of you, Birthdays are the most important day of the year, no matter who’s birthday it is 🙂
Me watching my sister, Tomi, open her birthday gift, and next picture, me opening MY gift on Tomis birthday. A present for both of us, always, when we were little, so no one felt left out.
Because of you, I learned how much you loved nursing, and in those first days of bringing home a new baby Liam, I thought back to your love of nourishing me, and it helped me through those first 7 weeks, until we FINALLY got it to work.

Because of you, I learned how important “organic” food was, even if I didnt know it then 😉 I always loved that you let Tomi and I plant our own little garden in the big garden.
Because of you, We learned how to dance like no one was watching, and enjoy it even more if someone was 😉

Because of you, I know my sweet baby boy, is protected, always, by the most loving, caring, angel 
that the spirit world has. I miss you every single day, and although I type this with tears in my eyes, I also sit here with a heart FULL of gratitude for the many things you gave me, and continue to give me. I love you.

    damn you sister you can always make me cry…thank you so much to momma for giving us the strength to be the momma’s that we are…she would be so proud of you and the AMAZING mom that you are both to Liam and Me when i need it!! I love you sister!!!

    Jeeze, I am crying too. Your momma wasn’t just a momma to you and Tomi. She made HUGE lasting impressions on so many of us. I learned from your mom that chocolate can cure a broken heart or PMS and that you can be a cheerleader without wearing a uniform. Thanks Momma Doty. You were an amazing woman, and I miss you too.
