About 4 months ago, I was honored to be a part of an online auction held by Sam, of Vintage is for Lovers, and Mindful Octopus.. to raise money for Brita of www.agirlwithcancer.wordpress.com
(click on her blog to see her story). Through that auction, I met “M” who bid on my design time!! I am sooo excited to be working with her!! Her home/ Studio space, is in Laguna Beach, CA…SOOO, We are doing everything over e-mail, skype, and the Internet!! Its been great so far!! I started by sending her my Flip video camera, so she could video, not only the spaces she needs guidance with, but also a few objects that she loves, or that inspire her. So I can really get a sense of who she is. She has so many great pieces already, and a view of the Catalina islands that is so breath taking, and beautiful, that I have re-watched her videos JUST to see the sunset!! haha!! ( I’m so happy that was one of the things that inspire her!!). So I want to share this story as it unfolds, as we move forward, and as we create a space together that she loves!
“M” really wants enough seating in her home for a book club she meets with, as well as a new Ribbon fireplace, and floors re-done. A new Sofa, and just a general re-organization of pieces she already has. After we complete that, we will move onto her studio space!!

I also have on that board, a few Sofa options. She wants a sectional with a Chaise, in light colored leather.

oh..and look at that SUN!!!..THIS is what I love, its projects like THIS, working with creative people like”M” that makes me tick…I am so grateful, and happy to be part of the design world, helping people make their homes a little more meaningful! talk about a dream job!!

Oh my…this one made me come for a comment!! That view….from everywhere! I am looking forward to your process (see how your creative mind works).Her place has some awesome features already. I have a similar piece of furniture, so I’ll wait to see the “after” on the painted sideboard. Are you sure that a quick trip isn’t needed… after all, I think Legoland is not far from her?
I know!! Can you imagine waking up everyday to that beautiful view!! ahh!!! Im pretty sure a quick trip is EXACTLY what needs to happen 😉
