It occurred to me last night as I was FINALLY writing in my journal again, ( literally JUST unpacked it) that as Grant and I were going through the process of finding a home in Nashville, we made 2 very specific lists. The first list included things that we ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT settle for in a home… here are my lists with the titles I gave them in my journal.
MUST HAVE LIST ( as in..not settling no matter what)
-Dishwasher
-Basement
-Garage
-At least 3 bedrooms
-At least 1.5 baths
-Washer/Dryer
Here is what was on our other list, that I titled..
Would Make us Happy List ( but not deal breakers)
-Lots of Sun
-Big Windows
-Big back yard (fenced) for Liam and weenies
-Fireplace ( although..we will be in the south…)
-Playroom for Liam
-Close to a park
-Central air
Well, as I read over these lists ( now that we are IN our East Nashville home) I was astounded at how things worked out. Here are A few pic’s from our last 3.5 weeks here in Nashville.

As we were taking a walk the other day, we happened upon a sweet little PARK that is literally RIGHT around the corner..CHECK…
Do you see the message?? I finally did…It came to me as I was washing dishes ( thats right..no dishwasher).
The total message for us..BE CLEAR. We were SO specific in saying that we want to be happy, happy happy…we described what we wanted in detail on our “Happy List” ( not just a home with more windows..but BIG windows and LOTS of sunlight). We now are in a home, that has a check mark next to every single thing on our happy list. A home with NO Basement, NO Dishwasher, only 1 Bathroom, and NO Washer and Dryer..luckily there is W/D hook up which we will be filling next week!!
