DIY: Bird feeder

February 4, 2013 Comments : 2

Happy Monday!! I hope all of your Super Bowl dreams came true last night! Mine did!! oh..not that the team I wanted to win did ( great effort 49ers) but I did get to enjoy good food, wine and friends…

I wanted to share with you a little DIY project that Liam and I did last week. This was not a project that I planned to blog about, it was one of those organic, “what can we do today” moments ( which are the BEST) so the pictures aren’t great, because pictures were an after thought…

What we used:

Plastic bottle ( we used a recycled OJ bottle)
Bakers Twine ( or any other string or wire you can hang with)
Bird Seed
Phillips Head screwdriver
Chopsticks

How we did it:

Washed out Orange Juice Bottle.
Took Stickers off the outside.
Made 4 holes (using a screwdriver and hammer) near the bottom to place chopsticks through ( for birdies to stand on).
Placed Chopsticks.
Punched 5 more holes so the birds could get the seed.
Punched 2 more holes ( lots of hole punching) near the very top, so we could put the bakers twine through.
Strung the bakers twine through the top holes.
Filled with Bird Seed.
Hung!
Watched all the birdies!

Liam picked the color he wanted to use to hang..

Making a mess is the funnest part 🙂

A very easy Do it Yourself that took in total about 45 mins!! A great little project to get your kids involved in!!
Have a Great Monday!!!

Looks like the weather agrees with you more than in NY. Snow today.
