I Just love books. I can not think of a more beautiful , less expensive way to add a little “umph” to a space. I use books in my own house as a major styling tool. Mixing colors and textures to create visual interest!! Here are a few ways to effectively use books in design!!

“Using books is an inexpensive, beautiful way,

to add a little life to your space! Creating a “Story” using stories!

Here are a few ways you can use books in your home, to enhance your space!!! Look at this great Cloche Glass with books as seen in Better Homes and Gardens!

*DESIGN TIP*

You can purchase a cloche glass bell from world Market for under $25!

In the Above photo, Restoration Hardware shows small books tied together.

In my own house, I use stacks of books everywhere! on my bar in the entry, on my bookshelves and even on my night table.

**DESIGN TIP** Lay your books on their side, stack em up!! Use small trinkets or photos on top. Books become a platform.

**Design Tip**

Add A personal touch to your book stacks to create an extra layer of interest. Above, I added a lucky horseshoe given to me by a dear friend, and below, I used my moms favorite camera as a book end. Succulents bring life to my stack of design mags. This is a great way to add meaning to your home.

**DESIGN TIP**

Think outside the bookend box, look around your house to see if you can find a fun vase, or ceramic figurines and accessories to use!! Books deserve beautiful support!

These are just a few examples of inexpensive, but meanigful ways to add books into your design! Its all about creating a space that reflects where you are at in your life!!
