LIFE.designed: More than just pretty things..

February 3, 2013 Comments : 4

My life is inspired by design. Interior design, the design of nature, beautiful surroundings, both in homes and in life.
Since “Design Thoughts” is about my life, and how DESIGN is a part of it…I have decided to share the “THOUGHTS” element of  “Design Thoughts”.  My thoughts on the design of life. Life lessons, that have helped create who I am. Soul snippets that shape my everyday.  Design to me, includes more than just pretty things. It has always been about the “Whole Package”. SO, I am ready to share more of my whole package with you 😉 Connection through life’s lessons! Some of these lessons or soul snippets have come to me while meditating ( a once daily practice, before I moved to Nashville that I DESPERATELY am trying to get back) some are from spiritual gurus, spiritual sisters, good friends and people we all know…some will probably be from pinterest ( lol) and hopefully, some of you will add to them!!

Here is my most recent life lesson….thank you to my good friend Kristie, who reminded me of this!
To live your life Authentically,  you MUST take the leap when you are called to, no matter how big the fear!!
We have all been there right? You know that feeling that you so BADLY want to pursue something, try something, make something, put yourself “OUT THERE” but we are always too afraid!! The key for me, is truthfully, having a support system of rooted women. Surround yourself with people who will say,” Listen mama, take that leap..we will be right here to catch you if you fall, and when you SOAR, we will be waving from the ground!”  If you don’t have a support system, make your own..Here is how. Every single morning before you get up, before you are even out of your bed, make it a practice to say. “Today, I will conquer what I am meant to”  that’s it. no pressure. Begin to make YOUR OWN support system. Give yourself PERMISSION to conquer what you are meant to conquer. I promise you, what starts to happen, is you DECIDE to conquer more. Some days, if you are like me, that simply means, getting the bed made lol. Other days, you may press SEND on that crazy idea to share your “Soul” side to the world. Also, start to be conscious of the support you are giving to others. How do you respond to your friends or your partner when they bounce new ideas off you? Do you support them fully, do you encourage them, or do you read their tone and go with that?..example: Your Friend, ” I would love to start a muffin shop but that’s so crazy right?, there are a million muffin shops, but I love baking and I love muffins, but I would never even be able to find a space”  Do you say something like ” No kidding, there ARE a shitload of muffin shops..what a pain to even start something like that right?” or do you say something like ” I think doing something you love would be a DREAM, you’re right it might be a lot of work to find a place, but lets look!!  neither are the wrong response, but what energy are you putting out? What you send..you will receive. TRUTH 😉 How will you “design your life” this next week??

2 websites that I love. Good Energy, good thoughts, good advice and inspirational!
