Nashville House: Living Room Update

July 16, 2013 Comment : 1

Hi everyone!! Today, is my sons 4th birthday. I’m crying in my coffee at the fact that he is like..basically in college already. Thats how I feel. But at the same time, I see this sweet, caring, empathetic, kind little boy emerging, and my heart busts open. I wrote a whole long “Tribute” to Liam this morning, but decided to leave it as a draft, and just say this..being a mama is the best gift in this world. NOTHING matches it. To make a human, and to watch this little human grow, is out of this world. So blessed. Happy birthday my sweet, and so many more!!

NOW, onto my living room ( man, that was a smooth transition, right?)
We have been in Nashville 6 months!! can you believe that shizz!! a half a year! we have been away from New York for a half of a year already! how? where? what the?….anyway, I  started a bajillion projects with in the first 2 months, then remembered I just became a stay at home mom again ( hello budget). So lots of projects started, and teeny tiny progress ( awesome for a design blogger). I feel like there is motion again in the “project department” and am happy to report I have 3 of my 4 living room walls completed 🙂
This past weekend, I finally painted and re-styled my built in bookshelf wall ( click here to see the awesome new Paint company I used). I finished painting it and it still looked so bare!
SO, per usual, I pulled out a few canvasses and began to paint! (4) DIY paintings later, VOILA..complete!! also check out the sweet pillow from Target, and the melamine plates I scored on Clearance from World Market!!
( attached to the wall with 3M command picture hanging strips)

Here are some of the details that complete the color scheme!!! Yellow, Teal and Green!

White Shell Piece- Nate Berkus for Target
Turquoise/Yellow Painting ( DIY)
Yellow Graphic Pillow- Target
Yellow Melamine sm. bug Tray- World Market
Iron Chair-Pier One imports
*Styling tip* Take the paper covers off books to see what colors are revealed!! One of my fav’s
“Spirit Junkie” by Gabrielle Bernstein!
Hope you all had a fab Monday!!
XO,
Kim

    very nice!

I enjoyed meeting you at school tonight. It is crazy how quickly these children are growing up…and yes, it’s basically college 🙂 I feel ya!

    joyfully,
    Jamie
