Feeling Green? A little Niche Paint!

March 11, 2013 Comments : 2

HI!! Happy Monday? its happy here, My hubby gets home today after what feels like forever. I was gone for 5 days, we were home together for 1 day, then he left on business for 5 days. A BIG HOLLA to my gurl Jen who is at home with her 2 babies while her hubby is in Afghanistan! Strongest people I know! ( He actually gets home on the 18th YAY!!) I barely made it 5 days!! J-Love you are a freaking rock star mama!! anyway, NOT the point of this post, per usual. ( read on for actual point)

This weekend, I decided to quickly paint the niche that’s in our hallway! I have been wanting to do this little project for a while. I was originally going to do a dark slate grey paint, but then realized, that although our hallway gets a lot of light, that little niche is really dark! A few weeks ago, we were in Lowe’s picking up all the paint for Liam’s room ( which we STILL haven’t started yet), and while looking through their damaged paint, I came across 3 little sample jars that were already opened, so they were only $1 !! I mean, I have 10x that much in change in my backseat probably ( along with old slices of apples and some goldfish I am sure of it). I picked up all three, and changed my idea of the niche color. I have to be honest, I like it..I really LIKE it…but I am not, like, calling my friends about it, ya know? I have to live with it a minute and hey, its only paint!  Also, this is totally my deal…I fall IN love with paint, then I roll the first coat on and, every single time I don’t like it. I told you guys about that same thing with our kitchen paint.which I die over every time I look at  it now, because it is LITERALLY the perfect shade of Gray.  Quick side note..if you read yesterdays post, you saw that there was a fire in our home. as the repair guy was walking out, after hours of well, repair, he stopped in my kitchen and asked me what paint color I used LOL…he loved it so much for his daughters house that he had me write down the information! ha! ( Martha Stewart – Heavy Goose) anyway, here is my niche!

This is a picture of my Gramma Doris and her sisters. She is the one in the middle. She passed away 2 weeks ago, so this picture means even more to me now. Don’t you just love her outfit! For me, its so important to add meaning to whatever “Interior Design” I do, in my home and in other peoples home!! It just adds an extra layer of love!

Have a great week everyone!!
